Carrum Fishing Report for Friday 3rd September 2010
Well it doesn't need to be said that this has been the coldest and wettest season in a long time which leads me to the questions "What will this season bring?" It is always the million dollar question and by the sounds of some reports filtering through it is once again looking like a corker.
Father's Day this Sunday
A new season is upon us and so are the latest Season Tickets.
These are now available to purchase for $138 and with Fathers Day on Sunday this would make an ideal present.
Now onto the reports .........
Over the past weeks we have seen some great snapper weighed in with the biggest taken by George Cass with a 6.3kg fish, well done. I must say these fishermen are the keenest of keen with the chill factor not the kindest, but as I always say if you are prepared to put in the time then you will reap the rewards as can be seen by the pictures below.
5.6kg Greg Dixon
5.4kg Michael Sewell
6.3kg George Cass
3-4kg Peter
Matt Cini who runs Reeltime Fishing Charters has been fishing a lot lately and producing some great snapper, take a look at his latest report on www.reeltimefishing.com.au
Squid and pilchards seem to be the pick of baits at the moment and the best areas are from Carrum through to Aspendale in 16-17 metres of water. The calmer conditions have not been favorable for the snapper at the moment but the rising barometer (rough water subsiding) has been working a treat.
With a slight hint of spring in the air I would just like to offer a tip to all before making the journey down to us. Test your batteries, steering and wheel bearings, there is nothing worse than seeing people getting up early and going home early ........ I think it's called maintenance.
Mitch's nice Cuttlefish
3-4kg Nick
I have just checked out what weather we are going to encounter over the next 24 hours according to the radar image for Adelaide, unbelievable so batten down the hatches.

A new look !
The new bitumen car park is half finished with line marking taking place as we speak. It has been a long drawn out process and the wet weather certainly has put the boys a little behind schedule but patience has prevailed and it's all go from here on in.
Ramps 1 -3 are now open for operation, not 100% sure on the completion of the wall through to Ramp 4 but I will endeavor to keep you posted.
Have a great week
